Wish List (Sat 28 Feb 2004)
Sorry, but I don't seem to want for anything simple, cheap, and easy. (And I've already got too much stuff.)
- a Unix/Linux/MacOS job (sysadmin/programmer) within bicycle-commuting distance (< 10 mi?), with an environment that doesn't expect me to use any Microsoft software
- a pair of good microphones for recording choral concerts
- Archos Jukebox digital recorder (or similar)
- a kick-ass digital camera (5 or 6 megapixels w/ lots of optical zoom)
- a rugged, lightweight digital camera with time-lapse function, suitable for taking aerial photos from a kite
- a 17" PowerBook or a newer iBook (although my current 80GB iBook is still fine) [I said that the day before it last died.]
- time
- space
- wealth
- universal health care
- no tobacco
- domestic tranquility
- international tranquility
- justice
- zero population growth
- zero stupidity
- 100% voter participation; voting for the candidates that best represent their interests, not the ones who look/sound best (some people actually vote for the candidate they think will win, regardless of political views!)
- candidates for office that represent my views, better than a 23% match with the incumbents and 43%-58% with the opposition (and the best opposition matches have been withdrawing)
- satisfying public transportation
- (and fewer cars)
